Today I’m really glad to be joined by author and advocate Patricia McKnight.
Patricia is a survivor of child abuse, neglect and sexual assault.
She endured 20 years of brutal domestic violence which several times almost ended her life. Throughout the years of being forced by family and society to carry the secrets of her childhood abuse, she constantly questioned her sanity and ability to be a good person. When she ended this heavy burden of silence she then understood the damage caused by these abuses.
She endured twelve long years of sadistic abuse and severe neglect from her stepfather and mother.
The abuses and the behaviors learned from these acts created someone – herself – that was always looking to hide from society. Later, her children became her strong hold on sanity.
Her family & society had locked her into a world of never speaking about the abuses she survived. She has overcome a horrific 32 years of violence, abuse, rape, and neglect. We’ll be talking on the show today about her insights into abuse and her new novel, “My Justice”
On her Facebook page she notes – The voices of survivors can change the world, one story at a time.
I agree, it takes all of us one at a time.
You can read a free sample of My Justice on Amazon (use their cloud reader). It’s also available at Barnes and Noble with a free sample for Nook.
